The Hanover  Township Police  Department  is  scheduled for  an on-site assessment as  part  of  the  re-accreditation process   through the  New Jersey   Law   Enforcement  Accreditation  Commission,  which   is administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.

 

 

The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with standards that represent the best practices in Law Enforcement.  The accreditation process is rigorous and includes a close examination of the agency's written directive system, operation and facility. After the original accreditation ·process, each agency must be successfully re-evaluated every   three   years   to maintain   accreditation.  May 9, 2013 was   our agencies first successful certification.

 

 

As part  of the on-site  assessment,  agency  employees  and members  of the community are invited  to offer comments  to the re-accreditation assessors assigned to the on-site assessment by calling  (973) 428-2512, ask for  extension 3011 on Monday,  April  11, 2016 between  9:00a.m. &

11:00a.m. Telephone comments   are limited to 5 minutes   and must address the agency's ability to comply with the accreditation standards.

Underage drinking may cause a six-month delay to get a license at age 17.
