The Hanover Township Police will ONLY accept online applications for new and replacement Firearms Identification Cards as well as permits to purchase a handgun. Walk-in paper applications will no longer be accepted at the police department. This is because the State has implemented a new electronic purchase e-permit document that can be executed by Licensed Gun Dealers or private transfers where a NICS check is exempt. The first thing the online form asks for is our ORI number. The ORI Number for the Hanover Township Police Department is: NJ0141200
When you enter this number, verify that the agency name is correct, HANOVER TWP PD. If you submit an application to the wrong agency you will not be issued a refund by the State of New Jersey and will have to resubmit your application and pay again.
